AI GLOSSARY

Foundation Model

A foundation model is a large-scale, pre-trained model that serves as a base for solving a wide range of tasks across different domains. These models, typically trained on vast datasets, can be fine-tuned for specific tasks with minimal additional training, making them highly versatile and efficient. Foundation models can be standalone systems or can be used as a ‘base’ for many other applications.
